2023/24 Season Schedule

Starting in November, we will offer monthly, evening events at EMC located at 700 East Dearborn Street, Englewood, FL. We believe that our 2023/24 concerts will satisfy the musical tastes of our faithful patrons and will have broad appeal and attract audiences of all ages in the greater Englewood area.

Here is our amazing lineup for 2023/24 season:

November 17, 2023, 7pm – Mark & Maggie O’Connor Duo

At age 13, Mark O’Connor was the youngest person ever to win the Grand Master Fiddler Championships competing against all ages, amateur and professional. Forty years later, his record still stands. Mr. O’Connor is still the only person to ever win national titles on fiddle, bluegrass guitar and mandolin.  He has won three Grammy Awards, and a record breaking six Country Music Association Musician of The Year Awards in a row.

Growing up in a musical family in the suburbs of Atlanta GA, Maggie started playing the violin at age 7 in a family band. Concurrently, she took classical violin lessons with Larisa Morgulis, a distinguished graduate of the Odessa Conservatory in Ukraine.  Maggie continued her professional training at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University where she studied with violinist Herbert Greenberg earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in violin performance. Maggie won a Grammy in 2017 for her performance on the “Coming Home” album.

December 8, 2023, 7pm – Venice Symphony Jazz Orchestra

The Venice Symphony is the only professional orchestra in South Sarasota County and a cultural and educational force in our community, bringing the highest quality symphonic music and music education to thousands every year. Venice Symphony has been inspiring and transforming lives through exceptional music since 1974. The VSJO will present their Holiday Program as part of their 50th Anniversary Concert Season.

January 12, 2024, 7pm – The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra

The big-band business today requires almost constant travel as a result of an arduous schedule of one-night stands. The Glenn Miller Orchestra is “on the road” longer and more continuously than any other in the world, having celebrated its 67th year anniversary on June 6, 2023. It covers over a hundred thousand miles a year, working almost every night for 48 weeks out of every 52-nearly 300 playing dates, performing for an “in person” audience that adds up to more than a half million people annually.

February 9, 2024, 7pm – The String Queens

With an array of repertoire spanning from the Baroque era to the Jazz Age to today’s Billboard Hot 100 Chart, TSQ performs versatile programs that take listeners on a rousing musical journey through time and a multitude of musical genres.  Based in Washington, D.C., TSQ has been featured in performances at renowned concert halls and venues across America, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the nation’s capital.

March 8, 2024, 7pm – The HillBenders

Formed in April of 2008, and still touring with the original lineup, The HillBenders have firmly established their presence as one of the most energetic and engaging progressive acoustic bands on the scene and they continue to wow audiences from stages around the country and around the world.
