With the resurrection, God has turned our mourning into dancing, our sorrow into joy! Death has been vanquished and our destinies have been secured. HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN, INDEED! The discipline of Celebration is not only in the destination, but it permeates the journey. We are not trapped in perpetual serious sadness like we thought on Good Friday. Easter Sunday has arrived, and we will celebrate! To make Celebration a discipline seems wrong. Celebration should be a spontaneous feeling-based activity, we think…but when we sit with the reason why we celebrate, we know it can’t be just when we feel like it, or when it’s prescribed, or when conditions are just right…We Celebrate because HE IS RISEN!!!
